Chapel Hill Pediatrics and Adolescents have a CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendment) licensed, a moderately complex laboratory that is staffed by clinically-trained lab and phlebotomy personnel.
Our in-house rapid diagnostic gets laboratory testing results to our pediatricians faster — meaning our patients receive the necessary treatments and medications more quickly, as well. When clinically indicated, our lab technicians can complete:
For lab tests not available in our offices, we can collect blood, urine, stool and skin samples and send the specimens to outside laboratories for analysis. Our computer contact with LabCorp and UNC provides efficient turnaround times for final results.
Our excellent record of quality control is monitored by COLA, a premier clinical laboratory education, consultation, and accreditation organization. We are constantly upgrading our techniques to stay current on available technology.
Finally, we are pleased to provide lab-only appointments for labs requested by specialists who may also be following Chapel Hill Pediatrics and Adolescents patients. We must have the signed “Authorization for Outside Labs” from the ordering physician before the lab appointments can be scheduled. This form can be found on our patient forms page; our policy for outside labs can be found on our policies page. Please review the steps listed here to help coordinate these services.
